Spanish Oaks Hospice has a mission to provide compassionate and individualized care for patients and their families

Spanish Oaks Hospice has a mission to provide compassionate and individualized care for patients and their families, with an emphasis on symptom control, emotional and spiritual support, and bereavement. The program is reflective of a spirit and idea of caring that emphasizes comfort and dignity for the dying, making it possible for them to remain independent as long as possible, and in familiar surroundings.

Hospice care is centered on both the patient and the family/caregiver. Hospice personnel respect and respond to the unique differences in families/caregivers, lifestyles, values, and wishes.

Spanish Oaks Hospice serves Savannah and the 22 surrounding counties with hospice care. We work in conjunction with the other quality hospice care facilities in the Savannah area. Spanish Oaks Hospice seeks to offer hospice care for all individuals with life-limiting illnesses. We provide quality palliative care through utilizing an interdisciplinary team approach involving physicians, nurses, social workers, hospice aides, volunteers, spiritual counselors, and bereavement counselors. Patient services are provided without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, handicap (mental or physical), or place of national origin.

Spanish Oaks Foundation

The Spanish Oaks Foundation was created as a nonprofit organization to provide services for those in need of financial assistance. Our board of directors is comprised of a diverse group of community members that oversee the foundation’s activities. Hospice provides services despite the individual’s ability to pay and, as a result, the foundation plays a vital role in lifting some of the financial burden.

Community Services and Bereavement Support

Our Hospice Staff provides educational services regarding end-of-life issues to various organizations and facilities throughout the area. Our bereavement and family support groups meet on a regular basis to offer counseling and emotional support. These meetings are open to the public.
