Chatham Orthopaedic Associates, P.A. is the oldest orthopaedic medical practice in Savannah.
The practice began in the 1950s in the downtown area and moved south to the current area of the city a number of years later. The physician side of the practice grew in the 1990s when Spencer Wheeler, M.D. and James Holtzclaw, M.D. joined Chatham Orthopaedics. Mark Jenkins, D.O. was the first addition in the twenty-first century, and has now been joined by Robert Dow Hoffman, M.D., Raphael Roybal, M.D., Greer Noonburg, M.D., and Ronald Levit, M.D. Chatham Orthopaedics has board certified physicians in many of the orthopaedic sub-specialties.
The current office location allows the physicians to perform surgery in the Memorial Health University Medical Center surgery center which is located on the second floor of the current office building. The group also provides complete MRI and Physical Therapy services. In addition, satellite offices are maintained in Savannah, Springfield, and Claxton, Georgia.
Chatham Orthopaedic Associates, P.A. provides a full range of Orthopaedic services. We have at least one physician that specializes in each of the various disciplines of Orthopaedics. The practice’s goal is to schedule patients with orthopaedic medical concerns as quickly as possible which means that frequently patients are seen the same day that they call, and especially if a bone has been fractured.
We provide care for the neck, spine, shoulders, knees, hips, as well as all extremities. MRI evaluations and full x-ray services are offered at our Paulsen Street address in Savannah. An outpatient surgery center, owned by Memorial Health University Medical Center, is also available at that same location.
